Lactation visits are personalized to your goals and may include support with: Breastfeeding, latch, and nipple pain or healing Milk supply concerns Pumping and flange fitting Bottle feeding and paced feeding Formula use / supplementation Returning to work and pumping plans Infant weight gain and milk transfer Tongue and lip ties, oral function, and body tension Engorgement, clogged ducts, and breast inflammation Combination feeding and exclusive pumping Infant / maternal allergies and gut health Postpartum nutrition Starting solids and feeding transitions Home visits are available within about 45 minutes of Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs. Online appointments are held by secure video. Insurance Coverage TRICARE: I’m in network with TRICARE. Eligible families are covered for up to six lactation visits, with no out-of-pocket cost and no referral required. Colorado Medicaid: I’m in network with Colorado Medicaid. Eligible families can receive unlimited lactation visits, with no out-of-pocket cost and no referral required. Commercial insurance: Aetna, UMR, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Meritain, UnitedHealthcare, and other commercial plans are billed through Lactation Consultants of America (LCA). Your plan determines whether you have a copay. If your plan has a copay for routine doctor visits, you may also have one for lactation care. Copays are often $30 or less, and many plans have no copay. Your specific benefits will be checked before your appointment.
